Twas the Night Before Christmas…

December 24th, 2001

Current Song: Linkin Park - “With You” This is it. Only 3 Hours, 45 minutes until Christmas 2001. Just got back from church, that was exciting. Sat with Melissa and her boyfriend Shawn. I worked for the first time yesterday. It was mad boring but its worth it for the discount. I can’t seem to stop buying those damn AE clothes. Let’s see, I finally finished the DTB Poem for my friends X-Mas gift, it came out pretty good. As a matter of fact you can read it below. Otherwise, I hope you all have a great Christmas!

As high school came to a close, we hoped for the best
We were certainly sick of taking those tests
We all had summer jobs to save up for school
Fourty hours a week, we all felt like fools
They weren’t the best jobs, in fact, they sucked a lot
I drove a golf cart around Sylvan Glen’s parking lot
Erika worked for a spa she made some mad cash
To sit, sell Dermalogica, and wax her mustache
The City of Troy put Mark on the water crew
He didn’t do much, except paint a fire hydrant or two
Lindsey continued her roll as the “Pita Princess”
She liked the people she worked with but hated the buisness
And last but not least, my “brutha,” Ryan
He filed so many papers that he would call me up cryin’

During the week we all busted ass
But when Friday night came we got to spend some of that cash
Where did we gather? The O’Neil Estate
Kathy and Tim worked hard to keep their house looking great
Now all we needed was a place to go
Troy - Not too exciting was kinda slow
We needed a place with excitement, but where could this be?
Oh you know the answer, the great DTB
We were going to get there just as quick as could be
As soon as we decided on RAN3, the Crown Vic, or the Jeep Cherokee

Soon we were driving down Main Street with lights everywhere
We pulled into our parking structure - “Hey look, Stephany’s there!”
We walked all over town then hit up Starbucks
There was a line out the door, it was just our luck
After our coffee we walked back outside
And thats when we saw it, the Lotus, what a phat ride
11:45 was approaching it was about time to cruise
If Ry wasn’t home before midnight Kathy would give him a bruise

Back at the house, we all hugged and said farewell
But tomorrow was another day, with more adventures to be held
A typical summer weekened with RREML; it was a hell of a time
Something I wouldn’t give up for anything, anything of mine.
