Oh What A Night

Current Song: Disturbed – “Stupify” Only one word can describe New Years Eve 2001-2002. WOW! This was one of the most comical, fun, and entertaining nights I’ve ever had. Where do I even begin explaining this chaos? Ha, I know, the beginning… December 31, 5:45 PM- All of RREML (Robbie, Ryan, Erika, Mark, and Lindsey (also along for this ride was Emily, Lindsey’s suitemate)) was gathered at the Ethier House because Truby was in Kentucky with Bill to visit her family. Erika had just finished puting make-up on Lindsey and Emily (AKA making them look like whores, but good looking whores mind you!) I was relaxin in the EZ chair watching the Simpson’s when Ryan (always last to arrive) made it. Now keep this in mind. For dinner we are all going to Andiamo Lakefront Bistro in St. Claire Shores. Our vehicle of choice, Mark’s old school Dogde Caravan with one hundred and like fourty thousand miles on it. Anyway, we all hopped into that rad van and began our way to I-696.

December 31, 6:50 PM- We pulled up to the front of Andiamos where (funnily) Mark decided to get his van vallet parked, but not before telling the guy to not touch the radio or anything else because the car was really old. We made our way into this beautiful restaurant. We were seated upstairs, which was really cool. It was quite an expensive ordeal to eat here, which was OK because thats what we were going for. The cheapest thing on the menu was $16.95, Homemade Meat Lasagna (blah). The most expensive item on the menu was $50.95, Surf-n-Turf: 6 oz. Filet & 8 oz. Lobster Tail. Anyway, I stole the menu and if you wanna see a picture of it look below. After our $140.00 dinner (oh by the way I had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon Fillet for $22.95, it was spectacular) we retreated back to the vallet parking area. When the guy drove the van up the music was just as loud as it was when we gave him the car. When the vallet guy opened the sliding door on the side of the van, Mark joked for him to be careful because the “door might fall off.” Ha, well what do you know, it did. That’s right the side door of the van fell off. You’ve never seen such a sight in front of one of the most top notch restaurants in Detroit. Mark trying to put the door back and at the same time cursing his head off, me holding back paneling that Mark wripped off, and Ryan joking about how the vallet guys “must get this sort of thing everyday.” Well, needless to say we couldn’t get the door back on all the way so I had to drive the van back from 10 and Jefferson while Mark and Ryan held it on from the inside (and it was like 17 degrees outside which didn’t help!)

December 31, 9:30 PM- With a new car for all six of us to squeeze into (Mark’s Ford Taurus) we made out way to Erin’s house for her party. This was interesting. About 3 college kids (not including us) and everyone else still in high school. Ya, thats what I thought. Anyway, it was good however to see some of those youngins again. Among them were Bondo, Stephany, Suzanne, Marja, and Renee just to name a few. Everyone was pretty tanked before 10:30 at night (damn light-weights) including Brooke (lol see picture below).

December 31, 11:25 PM- Mark, Me, Lindsey, and Emily decided to leave Erin’s party and go back to Erika’s house to ring in the new year. Oh ya, Mark slipped on the drive way at Erin’s house right on his ass (think Ryan O’Neil at Mulligans).

January 1, 12:00 AM- HAPPY NEW YEAR! Well pretty much the rest of the night at Erika’s was random. Watched TV, drank champaigne and Smirnoff Ice. We didn’t do too many exciting things just enjoyed eachother and took lots of pictures haha. Emily was the first to fall asleep (1:30 AM, good job Em.) Me and Lindsey were the next to go at about 3:30 AM and I have no idea how late Mark and Erika stayed up (Ryan left at about 1 or 2, to be honest I don’t remember.)

January 1, 10:00 AM- Everyone was awake and talking about the prior night. We took a few more pictures and then everyone went on their way. It was a spectacular night I had sooo much fun! It will be a New Year’s Eve to remember.
