Mars
Current Song: AFI – “Girl Not Grey” –Last Wednesday (August 27th) was the final day that the planet Mars would be approaching Earth and since this was the closest it has been in 60,000 years I decided to sacrifice a little bit of sleep to see it. I got up at 4 AM Wed. morning and went outside Holden near the volleyball court and luckily the sky was fairly clear. Mars was incredibly bright. Apprentely, with the use of a telescope the features on the red planet would be visible. I decided I was going to try and take some pictures of this once in a lifetime spectecle with my digital. I set the camera to night time exposure and used about a third of my digital zoom (too much kills the battery). The pictures didn’t come out that great, the one below is the best one I got and I still had to edit it a little in Adobe.
Otherwise, last week was the first week of classes at MSU. Surprisingly, I don’t have a single foreign teacher (Russians don’t count). Kinda nice to understand for once. The week seemed to drag on forever, so of course everyone was excited for the long weekend. Friday and Saturday were spent partying/tailgating/partying in that order. Sunday I did nothing at all, except for install Visual Studio .NET that I got from MSU for free so I can program shit here at my computer instead of the EGR building. I suppose thats about all for now. Short 4 day week this week! Â
