Memorial Day Weekend

It’s been a while since I’ve been up on here… For a while I was working a ton, not just at the Camp Ti but also in terms of studying.  Last weekend, however, Camp Ti gave me an unpresidented 3 days off in a row so I decided to go up north with Megan, Kelly, and Dave (more on this later)

But first, Saturday was the Abrasive Method show at the Berkley Front.  It was a great show, I feel like there was a little dissapointment in terms of the amount of people who showed (compared to the last Berkley Front show) but I thought it was a great time.  After the AM show we went over to Spagz house for the after party (pictures on facebook and myspace, and eventually on here) it was a pretty entertaining night.

Sunday, we decided we were going to go to Caseville to Megan’s bad ass cottage.  We arrived around 7 I think, had some dinner, and then went to the break wall off the coast of Lake Huron for the sunset.  After that we definetly got rowdy back at the cottage around a blazing campfire.  On Monday (Memorial Day), we went out on the S.S. Carnaghi speedboat.  I was the only one who jumped into Lake Huron (I had to pee, what can I say).  It was kinda cold, but actually very refreshing after a minute or two.  The worst part about Monday was the fact that I got a ridiculous sunburn (think lobster red and equate that to my body), I can definetly do without that.

So, ya, thats about it, I don’t know whats coming up in the next few weeks, no real plans as of yet, I guess only time can tell.  I SWEAR I am going to update that photo album as soon as I figure out this error im getting.

If anyone is still reading this, could you possibly let me know? I feel like I waste my time writing anything, because I doubt people read this.  Oh well… Hollarrrr

Spiderman 3

I saw Spiderman 3 on Friday with Dave at AMC 30 during the last showing (11:50 pm), it was sold out, as were all of the Spiderman 3’s on opening day.  The movie started a little slow as they began to set up the story line but made up for it with the first initial battle sequence between Harry (the new Green Goblin) and Spiderman which was visually and emotionally intense.  The movie itself was a little rushed and there was a few corny sequences in it (like the Harry/MJ dance sequence), however, the special effects in the movie were so freaking cool that I will give a pass to the corny scenes.  I was satisfied with the way the movie ended and it didn’t really lead anyone to believe there would be a Spiderman 4, however, I did see on IMDB that a 4th Spiderman is already set for 2009 (no word on actors).  I also read that Spiderman 3 broke the single day opening record for a movie by making 58 million dollars and who knows how much more by the end of this weekend.

I’d give Spiderman 3 a 7/10 rating (Spiderman 1 a 8/10, Spiderman 2 a 9/10), I really felt like Spiderman 2 was much better overall, but once again the special effects in the 3rd really were amazing.  Unfortuantely, special effects aren’t what makes a movie and a rushed and overloaded story line really took away from Spiderman 3.
