The Good and the Bad

June 20th, 2007

On Sunday my next door neighbor, Jackie, was involved in a fatal car accident.  It looks like shes going to be ok, she managed a broken arm in the process and possibly some internal injuries.  Her friend, Tim, unfortuantely lost his life.  It’s a horrible story and one that is heard way too often in the news.  It blows my mind how much I care about my neighbors but I guess if you think about it I’ve known most of them for like 15 years.  Hearing about Jackie kinda rocked all our worlds.  I’m glad she’s ok and I hope she feels better and is back home soon.  My condolences also go out to the family and friends of Tim.

Anyway, time to lighten this up a little.  Last week I had the chance to experience a once in a lifetime event and I missed it.  I’m referring to the Justin Verlander no hitter Tigers game that I was supposed to go to but couldn’t get anyone to cover for me at work.  I ended up watching the last inning at Camp Ti while I was working.  Oh well, I’m happy for Justin V his stuff was so sick I couldn’t believe it.

I feel like I should use this platform for more than just talking about whats going on in my life.  I thought about sharing some of the music I’m currently listening to with anyone who wants to read about it, lets give that a whirl.  I recently downloaded the new Fabolous album, “From Nothin’ to Somethin’”.  I am thoroughly dissapointed.  This is definetly Fabolous’ worst album to date.  The production and lyrical flow that had me addicted for an entire summer with the “Real Talk” album is MIA on this album.  There is a few good songs, however, my banger for the album is track 5 featuring T-Pain called “Baby Don’t Go” I can’t get enough of it (sort of like I couldn’t get enough of “Buy You a Drank”).  There is another track (10) featuring Young Jeezy called “Diamonds” which I think is already or is going to be a single for the album, Jeezy kills his verse and the beat is sick.  If your a Fabolous fan I can’t really say you HAVE to get this album, but the 5-6 songs I like are enough for me to listen.  Outta 10 stars (10 being the best) I’ll give it a 5.5.
