Mid-Winter Update

January 13th, 2008

It’s been a couple weeks since I updated as it’s taken some time to get back into the normal routine since being back from Michigan.  Work has been pretty crazy the past week and a half due to the release of our newest version (PGP Desktop 9.7) but I’ve been fairly okay with it as it makes the days quicker.  I’ve also been thoroughly pre-occupied with the side job I’m trying to get with PGP, that being, redesigning their support web page.  Over the past month or so I have been working on a front page mock up to show my bosses and that meeting/presentation for me is tomorrow!  I showed the page to a few fellow employees and they all liked it so hopefully the bosses will too.

Billy and I have been doing a lot of skiing/snowboarding since we’ve been back.  I went solo to Brighton when I got back from MI, then the following week we went to Park City, and now this weekend we hit up The Canyons (in our backyard) for the first time.  I have to say The Canyons were amazing.  First you take a cabriolet ride from the parking lot to the base area.  Then you take a gondolla ride from the base area to the chair lifts, the place is huge.  There are 8 mountains that encompass the resort, 17 chair lifts, and 3,700 acres of skiing.  They are running a great package right now too.  For $99.90 you and a friend get 2 all day passes, 2 free burgers with fries, and 2 free beers.  I have a feeling many more trips will be made here.

Well, next week begins Sundance in Park City.  I’m not sure what to expect in terms of amount of people here (and celebrities?) but I guess we’ll see.  I already know that our night life may take a hit as HarryO’s isn’t really Harry’Os during this time (they turn into an event center).  For instance, next Saturday 50 Cent is going to be there but the whole thing is VIP by invitation only.  Oh well, maybe it’ll be a good opportunity to save money!
